BACK STORY My character was once a prince in a a relm called the Shadow lands until one night his parents got assasinated buy a spie called Striker-x who works for a company called the Striker force who only want to live in a world of war so he was on his own to stop Striker force from doing any more harm. HIS POWERS Arkham knights powers are phantom mode which summons a miny army of phantome with syths to help him when in need.ultomate pazzeswhich means he can control his enemies and when he doesnt need them they slowly incinagrate.changerchanger is when he can change him self in to anything or he could just change his arm into a swordhe also has many more powers. HOW HE HELPS PEOPLE he helps people by making shaw he stops the madness of striker force before they take over IF YOU COULD CREATE YOUR OWN HERO WHAT HE OR SHE BE CALLED AND WHAT THEY BE ABLE TO DO

We have been learning about wolves for a couple of weeks and this is what we have been doing

In Yellowstone the wolves helped the environment by killing the deer and elk which gave the trees flowers and bushes time to regenerate and re-introduce new animals which made the deer and elk move away from yellowstone.They caused a trophic cascade

In France the wolves are known as demons or pests because they eat all the sheep and chickens which makes the farmers angry because they don't get as much money so the farmers have been doing protest to banish them from France

I think wolves are amazing creatures because the re-shaped a river

 This week in writing we did a science experiment on why salt melts ice so we decided to think of some other substances like sand baking soda and others to see if anything would melt the ice faster after the experiment we looked at the times and salt had one with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes and 36 seconds all the others went longer than 2 hours so I just gave them a DNF.I would of thought that baking soda would of won because it has same ingredients as salt but a little more ingredients.

                                        You should try this experiment in the weekends

Yellow stone national park Minecraft edition

 This week in reading we have been earning about yellow stone national park which is in America.Then the teachers said we could make it on Minecraft so I made my first one but accidentally summoned the ender dragon and it destroyed my park so I had to quickly make a new one which was probably better because it had a lot lore trees and some bee hives.

Yellow stone national park is a park that used to have only elk and deer but then they introduced wolves witch killed the elk and deer so it gave the trees grass and bushes to regenerate and that meant more animals started coming like beavers bears otters eagles mice song birds and loads of others.

        Maybe you should try and make yellow stone national park on Minecraft.

Parachute madness

How are you today this few weeks Taine DC Brock Cameron and Luke have been working on a parachute. We made the parachute out of paper,tape and string. Luke was the one who created the parachute and DC Cameron Brock and Taine worked on the slide.

Fractured fairy tale

Once upon a time in a land far far away there lived a boy called jack he lived in a small house not far from the forest.One day jack decided to go exploring in the woods and just before he was about to leave his house when his Mum shouted out from the kitchen HEY JACK CAN YOU SELL DAISY FOR SOMETHING GOOD ok Mum BUT HURRY UP YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS MY VEGETABLE PIE Jack thought I think i'm just going to take my time.So thats what Jack did he went to the forest in what looked like slow motion then suddenly jack saw a glimpse of something in the corner of his eye what was it jack didn't know but he thought it looked like a old house so as everyone would do he decided to go in and suddenly a man popped out of nowhere and said can I have your cow I'll give you some magic beans bro there's no such thing as magic beans but Jack being Jack he didn't really care what he got just as long as he sold the cow.

Jack came home a couple hours later then his mother wanted him to as soon as he opened the door his Mum said you missed my vegetable pie Jack muttered under his voice yus.So what did you get for daisy some magic beans then his Mum quickly swiped them from him and planted them.The next day Jack woke up to see a gigantic bean stalk taller than a skyscraper Jack thought oh my god I have to climb that thing next thing he knew he was half up the beanstalk at least he thought so.Jack heard a rumbling sound from up above and then he heard a deafening sound that went like FE FI FO FUM.Jack regretting getting this idea to climb the beanstalk but he couldn't give up now  he was almost there he thought one last step for mankind YAY he shouted out I made it but he forgot about the voice witch woke him up.Jack started to look around  and he saw a massive gaming controler luckily for Jack there was a headset hole he ran over to it and climbed up into it woah this place is amazing but he didnt realise there was an Iron giant standing behind him LEAVE never I want that golden computer or else I won't leave well I guess I'll just have to eat you up wait a seck look at that bird over there where turn around and you'll see okay.Yas I made him turn around golden computer your mine wait what did you say nothing oh look at that bird it's a flamingo where where ha flamingos cant fly.

Your mine now to play another trick on him hey Iron giant yes the birds left darn wait wheres my computer down here stink brain ha ha.As Jack quickly ran and jumped off the beanstalk he went to the mayor's house so he could call the hole town to cut down the beanstalk the mayor didn't seem convinced that there was a beanstalk in his backyard so Jack showed him and he rang the hole town to get there axes they all ran over and started chopping and chopping eventually it fell down and the Iron giant fell down with but unfourtunitly he landed in a puddle witch rusted his metal and he fell apart.Later that night the hole town had a ginormous party at Jack's house and then his mother said vegetable soup anyone and they all left and lived happily ever after with there golden computer

Robot story

This week in maths we made robots on google draw and sent them to the teacher to print them out.Then we had to do find eight angles and estimate them then get a protractor and get the right answer. 

In literacy we are doing fractured fairy tales which are fairy tales but you can change some stuff about them.I chose Jack and the beanstalk and changed his name to Jake and instead of a giant I put it as an Iron giant.I also made the whole story modern.Maybe you should try and make a fractured fairy tale.

In inquiry we have been doing global issues I chose poverty.The teachers put photos around the room to write what you thought it was and I chose this one.i think its about the nurses over Covid - 19 because there basically super heroes.

VERBAL IRONY

For the last 2 weeks we have been making these comics on irony me and my friend chose verbal irony out of two other irony's dramatic irony and situational irony.As you can tell verbal irony is basically sarcasm.This is about me and my friend saying its a horrible day but its actually a beautiful day😎.

For numeracy today, we have started to learn about angles.  

We learnt about 3 different angles today - acute (less than 90°), right angle (90°), and obtuse (larger than 90° but smaller than 180°).  We also learnt how to use a protractor to measure angles.  We know that we need to measure an angle from a vertice (a corner where two straight lines meet).

For our create task, we had to measure three different angles on the first letter of our name - can you  figure out if they are acute, right angle or obtuse?

For the past weeks in toroa hub we have been making bone carvings but our designs have top be something about my family I chose the bottom one to do.Next week on Friday we might be sculpting them out of heat dry play dough

This week for literacy we have been learning about inferencing and show not tell.  When we read something, we automatically start making inferences, so it is important when we write that we give clues in our writing that allow people to make inferences.  We want to show them - not tell them.
For example:  Paul was frustrated when he got to the bus stop and realised he had just missed the bus.  But instead I could write “Running as fast as he could, Paul turned the corner only to see the back of the bus as it pulled away.  Throwing his bag down on the ground and sighing out loud, Paul realised that he had no choice, but to sit and wait for the next bus to arrive - 20 minutes from now”  You can infer from me saying ‘throwing his bag down and sighing out loud’ that he is frustrated.
Our task was to create a video that accompanied a piece of writing about an elderly man.  We used Adobe Spark to do this.

MATH

Hi Bloggers,

For numeracy this week, we have been learning about grid references and we have been working on 4 and 6 digit grid references.

We learnt that we read across the bottom of the grid first (Eastlings) and then up the side second (Northlings).  

Our task today was to look at an aerial map of our school, write down the 6 digit grid references for the letters that our teacher had put on it, and then go in hunt of those points.  At each point there was 1 or 2 letters.  Once we had them all, we had to come back into the hub and unscramble the letters to figure out what it spelt.  The secret sentence was ‘Happy Birthday Zoe’.

I really enjoyed the task.  Have you ever had to use grid references before in real life?  What was it for?

The DISGUSTING famil

 week we have been looking carefully at making inferences when we read or watch something.  

An inference is when we take clues from a text or image, and 

add them to our thoughts or prior knowledge and make an inference.  

For example,  when I look at this photo, I might make the inference that 

this photo was taken in a food factory as everyone is wearing hair 

nets and this is required in all food factories.

The text that we read a snippet out of was ‘The Twits’ by Roald Dahl.

Once we had read the first few chapters where they described the main characters, Mr and Mrs Twit, we then had to make some inferences based on the clues that Roald Dahl had given in the text.

I used Google Draw to create a display of my inferences I have made about Mr and Mrs Twit.

This week in literacy we had to write what we think it would be like flying a tiger moth which is a plane used in the war and the famous writer roald dahl used.In maths we created our dream houses and did the perimeter as you can see my one is pretty big.I would of added another story but I dont know how to so I made it as big as I could but left some space for playing in the backyard.For our Friday after noon tasks I made a Colour push which is quick and easy art.

Fantastic tiger puzzle

Today I did a 270 peace puzzle of a tiger lying on a rock it took me 1 hour but I completed it.The good thing about the site that I used is when your doing a puzzle you can pause it and un pause it theirs also a timer at the bottom of your screen and it also says the fastest times that have done it and also at the bottom it says how much percent of the puzzle you've done. Although im not on the leader board for top five I still had fun and did it reasonably click on this link to check it out you self
